Liquid eyeliner can add instant glamour to your look. Whether creating retro cat eyes reminiscent of early screen sirens, or designing dramatic smokey eyes, liquid liner lets you shape a more defined look than you could achieve with an eyeliner pencil. Because of its liquid consistency and fine tip, liquid eyeliner is also more difficult to apply. However, with a little practice and the right technique, you can apply liquid eyeliner like a pro.
Get the look:
1. Apply mascara to your upper lashes first. Mascara thickens lashes and creates a barrier so the liquid liner won't run into eyes.
2. Gently lift your skin at the outer corner of your eye with your index finger to pull your eyelid taut. Use a hands-free magnified mirror to get a close view of the eye area.
3. Draw a line from the midpoint of the eye to the outer corner with the tip of the liquid eyeliner. If you are going for a cat eye look, extend the line just beyond the outer corner.
4. Draw a line from the inner corner of your eye to meet the line at the midpoint. Applying the line as two short lines gives you greater control. But if this is still too difficult, apply it as three or more short lines that meet up, creating one long line from the inner to the outer corner of the upper lid
5. Place a small amount of eye makeup remover on a cotton swab and dab any messy areas to make the line neat and straight
